Slytherin Sisters, Part IThe photograph of the four girls was faded and creased in the right corner. Eileen had blinked at the time the photo was taken and that was what she was staring at now, her dark eyes blinking while Pandora Lloyd-Jones surreptitiously made bunny ears behind her head. On the right Brunella MacInness smirked at the camera. Ethel Carrington took up the left panel of the frame, the one beauty amongst the three plain Janes. She laughed and waved, her coppery hair blowing in the breeze beneath the spidery script that Eileen had written in the top left corner: "Slytherin Sisters. Cornwall, 1954."
Slytherin Sisters, Part IIPandora lay the photograph down on the table. The four girls in the picture continued to wave and smile, happy to be young and carefree on a bright spring day. She looked up at Eileen.
Part I Chapters:
Chapter I: The Company You KeepWendy's owl from Hogwarts arrived on August 12, 1971 at 8:30 a.m. She was at the shore cottage with her mother and sister when the large barn owl flew in through the kitchen window. It was the day after her eleventh birthday.
Chapter II: Summer's EndSeverus sat on the rusty swing, pushing the dirt on the ground back and forth with his toes. He stared intently at the gate to the playground. The gate door had fallen off of its hinge, making the playground more accessible to rats, stray cats and vagrants. Maybe this wasn't the best meeting place.
Chapter III: On the Platform"Would you like me to carry those for you, Madam?" The porter touched his cap and looked at the imposing woman in the dark grey robes. Walburga frowned.
Chapter IV: First ImpressionsThe Hogwarts Express pulled out of the station with a loud whistle and billowing puffs of steam. Students leaned out of windows, waving goodbye to their families or hastily jostled each other in the corridor, trying to find seats.
Chapter V: The SortingSeverus could see the glowing yellow lamps of the Hogsmead station in the distance as he sat with his nose pressed against the cool glass of the window. The window had fogged up with the steam of the people squeezed into their tiny compartment. Lily, who had changed into her Hogwarts robes, squeezed his hand in excitement.
Chapter VI: Friends and FamilyThe din in the Great Hall quieted down as Albus Dumbledore stood up to greet the new First Years. Severus stared at the old man in the violet robes. His hair and beard were silver, but his blue eyes were bright and youthful. He smiled widely at the students.
Chapter VII: Boy From the North CountryWe hate it when our friends become successful/And if they're Northern, that makes it even worse
Chapter VIII: CheckmateThe White Queen ran diagonally across the chessboard, sword drawn, then stopped several paces before her target, the Red King. She glanced to the right where the Red Queen was waving her sword menacingly. There was nothing that she could do. If the Red Queen made her move to put the White Queen within range, the next move would be the White Queen's and the game would be won. The White Queen slowly turned forward to face the Red King again. She was completely unprepared for the Red Castle which bore down behind her, crushing her beneath a pile of red bricks. Blood spattered over the chessboard before the White Queen disappeared and the

Practical Potions Eileen squinted out at her backyard as she wrung out the grey, frayed dishcloth. Rain again for the third day in a row. It had soaked her herb garden and formed a huge, rusty pool around the tools which were leaning against the privy wall. Eileen frowned. She had asked Tobias several times to repair the broken gutter pipe. He had gotten so far as to bring the tools outside, then promptly deserted the project. For what? Some bottles of beer, a fight with the next door neighborit didn't really matter. The uncollected tools were now rusted and useless and the water from the broken gutter was soaking the privy roof and creating
A Spot of LuckSeverus thought that he had arrived early for the Advanced Potions class, only to find that two of the tables had already filled with Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs. He found a seat at an empty table and surveyed the room. Not many students qualified to take N.E.W.T. level potions. He was one of the chosen few who had continued to this level with Professor Slughorn's endorsement.

The Big Leather-Bound BookDolores Umbridge yawned and stretched under the thick green and silver comforter. She strained her ears for sound, but the girls' dormitory was silent. She parted the heavy green curtains which surrounded her four-poster bed and surveyed the room. The other beds were empty. Her roommates had already gone to breakfast.
You Don't Know How it FeelsSeverus continued to stare into the fog as the ferry cut through the choppy black water. Dumbledore had insisted that Muggle transportation was less likely to attract attention, which was why he was now standing on the deck of a ferry, exposed to the chilling damp winds that soaked his robes with wet mist and plastered his hair against his face. The inside was no better. Muggles were crammed together on the benches, engaging in inane conversation and giving him curious glances. Better to stay outside.
